Full of Sound and Fury: Living with Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia, one of the most common major mental illnesses, shatters persons. This sympathetic film presents the experiences of three sufferers of the debilitating disease. Tzvie, 50-years-old, articulately describes the anguish and loneliness of his marginal existence and his craving for a useful life. Sandy, able to maintain a part-time job, speaks of her daily struggle with delusions, fear, and isolation. Judy, the mother of a brilliant young schizophrenic, recounts the mental torment that drove her son to suicide. Although new drugs offer imperfect help, schizophrenics, with their pain and vulnerabliity, remain largely hostages to our compassion.
