Cookin' Up Profits
on Wall Street
This educational documentary looks
at financial investing in a light-hearted, yet informative manner, as
the members of the award-winning Beardstown Ladies' Investment Club pass
on their tips for success. The sixteen members, ages sixty to eighty-five,
encourage older women, an audience often overlooked by professional stockbrokers,
to take control of their own financial situations. The members cover the
basics of setting up an investment club, managing common stock portfolios,
and the four rules they have followed to achieve a conservative success
rate. Despite some inaccuracies in their inflated overestimation of their
recent investment returns, Cookin' Up Profits on Wall Street still
serves as a role model for thousands of new investors every year who are
interested in the social and financial benefits of forming or joining
an investment club.
