Senior Focus: Breast Cancer in Women - 1 and 2

Breast Cancer in Women - I and 2, a special presentation of Senior Focus, was produced to educate older women about the need for mammograms, how to perform monthly breast self-examination, and the urgency of seeking medical attention if any changes are found in the breast. The first segment explores the changes that have developed within the medical community, as to the type of support available to women who are newly diagnosed with the disease. Profiling various options available to women with breast cancer, post-operative treatments, and the need for public education are the central themes of the second half of the series. Interviews with medical personnel at Henry Ford and Port Huron Hospitals, along with cancer patients, survivors, and family members, include moving testimonials on how breast cancer, which affects the entire family, is a struggle for all who are involved.
