Chinatown

A landmark film noir movie, starring Jack Nicholson as private eye Jake Gittes, living off the moral climate of sun soaked pre-WWII Southern California. Hired by a beautiful socialite (Faye Dunaway) to investigate her husband's extra-marital affair, Gittes is swept into a storm of double dealings and dangerous deceits. There is a web of personal and political scandals that collide in one dark night in Chinatown. Also co-starring film legend John Huston, John Hillerman, Perry Lopez, Burt Young. Written by Robert Towne.
