While much of the narrative is told with flashbacks and newsreel footage. The script was largely written by Herman L. Mankiewicz and it features a remarkable ensemble of actors from Welles's Mercury Theatre: Joseph Cotten, Everett Sloane, and Agnes Moorehead.
