Detour

Detour is a fast and furious film noir. A bitter and cynical pianist, who dreamed of a concert career but instead ended up playing in smoky dives, decides to hitch to LA and reunite with his singer girlfriend. But his plans change after the driver who picks him up dies suddenly. The pianist takes the dead man's car, money and even his identity. Then he runs into a mysterious woman who somehow knows all that went on before. Detour was written by Martin Goldsmith and stars Tom Neal, Ann Savage, Claudia Drake and Edmund MacDonald.

Selected for the Library of Congress' National Film Registry of American Film.
