A wheelchair bound photographer (Jimmy Stewart) spend much of his time gazing out of his New York City apartment windows at his neighbors. As he does, he begins to suspect one of his neighbors may have murdered his wife. He asks both his girlfriend, (Grace Kelly) and his nurse (Thelma Ritter) to help in his investigation.
