Red River

Howard Hawks directs John Wayne who plays a tough cattle baron who is determinded to protect his ranch at any cost in this classic western film, Red River. But it's the plummeting livestock market that endangers his treasured ranch, so he and his adopted son set out to a better cattle market reached only through the treacherous Chisholm Trail. They battle stampeding cattle, dissension and fighting among their ranch hands. However, Tom will stop at nothing to reach his final destination. Also stars Montgomery Clift, Joanne Dru and Walter Brennan.
