The Bridge of the River Kwai - Limited Edition 2 Disc Set

The Bridge on the River Kwai
, a prisoner-of-war movie set in World War II Burma, is a monumental test of wills between two equally driven officers on opposing sides. Colonel Nicholson (Alec Guinness) is dogmatic and rigid, refusing to give an inch to the demands of the Japanese. Colonel Saito (Sessue Hayakawa) is desperate. The bridge he is to build is far behind schedule, so all prisoners must work, including the officers. But this is a violation of the rules of war, and so begins the struggle between the two officers. Starring William Holden, Alec Guinness, Jack Hawkins, Sessue Hayakawa and James Donald.

Selected for the Library of Congress' National Film Registry of American Film.
