Growing Up and Liking It

A far cry from the prim sex education manuals that it gently mocks, this fresh and often humorous video on the monthly menstruation cycle will touch deeply buried chords of memory in most women who see it. Through the stories from women of all ages and cultural backgrounds who share with us their vivid and sometimes disturbing memories of coming of age, we learn about this natural occurence that has long made women the object of taboo and superstition. There is also discussion on the tampon vs. sanitary napkin debate, PMS, sex during menstruation, menopause and hysterectomies. Produced/Directed by Susan Terrill.
