Interpretations

This fictional tale of a deaf photographer and her hearing friend directed by David O'Day, illustrates the problems that can sometimes arise between the deaf and hearing communities. Janice asks her hearing friend, Maureen to interpret for her on the set of an important shoot in order to impress the client. However, things go awry when a model is late, the shoot falls behind schedule and Maureen decides to undermine Janice's authority when she negotiates with the angry client. The friendship between the women suffers until they decide to work out their mutual misunderstandings and adapt to their differences.
