Out of Sight

Director David Sutherland takes a uncompromising view of Diane Starin who became blind when she was 18 months old. The film looks at Diane's relationship with Herb Martin, a man in his 60's, and a man with whom she lives with on a horse ranch. Their romance is unflinchingly examined including her infidelities, his alcoholism, and his cancer diagnosis. This is a quite frank and direct portrait of Diane, a person who just happens to be blind.
