Norman Rockwell's World...An American Dream - Currently Unavailable

Presents the world of American illustrator Norman Rockwell (1894-1978) through reenactment, stills, paintings, and old film footage. Juxtaposes scenes of Rockwell at work in his studio in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, with several of his Saturday Evening Post covers. He explains that he does not paint the world as it is but as he wants it to be, nor does he like to depict ugly things.

Curator's Comments: Good study of this perennially popular artist/illustrator whose work seems to gain in stature with the passage of time. Tells the stories behind many of his iconic Post covers.
